Hawaiian Chicken Wings
Total time| 1hr
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE CHICKEN WINGS:
-
1 tablespoon avocado or coconut oil
-
2 pounds chicken wings
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tsp garlic powder
FOR THE SAUCE:
-
1 cup coconut aminos
-
2/3 cup pineapple juice concentrate
-
3 slices of ginger
-
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-
1/4 tsp garlic powder
-
1/4 tsp onion powder
-
pinch of salt
METHOD:
-
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Toss the chicken wings in the oil, salt, and garlic powder. Lay them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes or until crispy.
-
While the wings are cooking, make the sauce. Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Bring the sauce to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let the sauce simmer for 10-15 more minutes or until it's thickened and coats the back of spoon. Then, remove the sauce from the heat.
-
When the wings are done, transfer them to a heat safe bowl and pour the sauce over the wings. Toss the wings in the sauce until each wing is well coated. Serve immediately and enjoy!
